Some of our thoughts are like a twig caught in a whirlpool in the river. The river can not drown it and the twig can not float away from the spiraling water. Wise are those who can recognize and control these thoughts.
A beautiful reflection of full moon in a placid pond can be perturbed by a creating a ripple, but the real moon in the sky still remains in place (Bhagavatam). There is a significant difference between the perceived world and real world. We are guided by our senses to realize the world in our minds in such a way to enhance our individual desires. Despite our perception the reality will remain in tact. Intelligent are those who seek the reality behind perceptions.
